St James’ Catholic Primary school at Nar Nar Goon commemorated its 50th anniversary with a day of festivities.
A celebratory Mass led by Bishop Greg Benne began the celebrations. The Bishop was joined by Parish Priest, Fr Avinash George along with Catholic education leaders including members of the Board of Directors of Diocese of Sale Catholic Education Limited DOSCEL, special guests, current and former staff, students and members of the school and parish community.
The school choir led the singing of the school song, supported by song writer/musicians, Bern Hance and Andy McDermott. A set of commissioned crosses to commemorate the occasion were Blessed and will be displayed around the school.
Guests were gifted with a St James’ medal and three shells, as represented in the staff of St James and the Holy Trinity. Students were gifted with an anniversary cross and a small gold shell as a commemorative keepsake.
