Catholic school teachers will receive an extra reward for their efforts this Friday, as local schools celebrate World Teachers’ Day.

Director of Education for the Diocese of Sale, Ms Maria Kirkwood, commended teachers for their continued hard work and dedication.

“It’s the commitment of our staff to their students and their vocation that makes Catholic education possible. This has been a particularly difficult year. Our schools have had to adapt to a new style of learning and teaching and they have had to adapt fast.

“The resilience teachers have shown has been extraordinary. They have kept faith in each other and ensured students and their families have been encouraged and supported at all times.

“Happy World Teachers’ Day to all of the school staff across our Diocese,” she said.

Diocese of Sale Catholic Education Ltd commemorated the day by sending every school staff member an ethically sourced, re-usable face mask as a token of appreciation.
