Shrove Tuesday and Project Compassion
February 21, 2023
There were plenty of smiles at Catholic Schools across the Diocese of Sale as students enjoyed delicious pancakes for Shrove Tuesday (February 21 2023) - the last day before Lent begins.
Lent is a time of fasting and reflection in the lead up to Easter.
Schools also began their Project Compassion Appeal for Caritas Australia which raises much-needed funds to improve the lives of people living in poverty.
Catholic Bishop of Sale, Most Reverend Greg Bennett, launched this year’s Project Compassion at Lavalla Catholic College in Traralgon. Social Justice captains from schools across the Diocese attended the launch.
Small contributions by many can have a big impact and help improve the lives of millions of people around the world.
