Sacred Heart Primary School enters a new era

New principal, Anne-Marie Robb with school captains, Deakin Stallion and Claudia Baldacchino.

Described as a small school with a big heart, Sacred Heart Primary School in Morwell is about to start a new chapter. The school’s current deputy principal, Ms Anne-Marie Robb, will become principal at the start of Term 3.

Ms Robb has worked in Catholic education across both the Melbourne Archdiocese and the Diocese of Sale for more than 21 years and says she is grateful for the opportunity to take on her first principalship.

“I love working in Catholic Education because it gives every teacher the opportunity to teach the whole child. Students are provided with a faith-based understanding of the dignity of the human person, which empowers academic and social development. For me, it is both a privilege and a joy to be part of a community-minded Catholic education leadership team,” she said.

Mr Justin Greenwood has been principal at Sacred Heart since 2019. He will now begin a new role, as foundation principal of St Angela of the Cross Primary School, which will open in Warragul in 2021.

Ms Robb said she is excited to honour Mr Greenwood’s legacy by empowering every student to reach their full potential.

“We offer a warm and vibrant environment to enable a personalised learning approach for our students so they can thrive. The staff and I are devoted to meeting the social and emotional needs of each child in our care. Along with the students, we are committed to working together to create a dynamic learning environment for everyone in our community.”

Mr Greenwood said he is pleased to see an experienced and enthusiastic educator guiding the school.

“Anne-Marie is a dynamic leader who will ensure Sacred Heart Primary School continues to be a welcoming community that is looking towards the future,” he said.

The Director of Catholic Education for the Diocese of Sale, Ms Maria Kirkwood, congratulated Ms Robb on her appointment.

“We are committed to nurturing staff, and harmonising the learning experience of our students.

“Ann-Marie is dedicated to expert teaching practice and takes a holistic approach to education. Her approach reflects the aspirations of our Catholic communities, as we work together to inspire faith and inspire learning,” she said.
