Congratulations to students and staff recently commissioned as FIRE Carriers in their school communities.
FIRE stands for Friends Igniting Reconciliation through Education and is an initiative of the Opening the Doors Foundation.
FIRE Carriers are students, staff and community representatives who share a passion for learning about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and history and are committed to sharing this knowledge and promoting Reconciliation within the school and into the school community.
The first Catholic schools in our Diocese to be commissioned as Fire Carriers are:
· St Francis Xavier College, Beaconsfield
· St Peter’s College, Cranbourne
· St Therese’s Primary School, Cranbourne
· St Thomas the Apostle Primary School, Cranbourne East
· Our Lady Star of the Sea Primary School, Cowes
· Marist-Sion College, Warragul
· St Joseph’s Primary School, Trafalgar
More schools are set to be commissioned in 2026!
