Tutoring in 2021

Register to become a tutor

At Diocese of Sale Catholic Education Ltd (DOSCEL), we aim to deliver high quality Catholic education for every student in our Diocese. We seek to support students to become successful learners who come to know, value and draw on the life-giving traditions and teaching of the Catholic faith.

DOSCEL is currently taking expressions of interest from pre-service teachers, teachers on leave, part-time teachers interested in working more hours, recently retired teachers or casual relief teachers to become a tutor. The position of tutor has been designed to support students in catching up with any learning they may have missed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and to ensure no student is left behind.

We'll need tutors for primary and secondary schools – starting from the beginning of the 2021 school year. Hours will vary depending on the needs of the school. Tutors will be working on the school site.

We're inviting you to register your interest now, so that we can provide you with more information in the coming weeks.

You are eligible if you are:

  • currently registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT)

  • have 'Permission to Teach' from the VIT

  • a pre-service teacher working under the supervision of an experienced teacher.

If you're a retired teacher, please contact VIT to get support to re-register.

Further information on the 2021 Tutoring Program Initiative, including Frequently Asked Questions, can be accessed on the VIT website.
