New look for Catholic Education
The governance body that oversees Catholic schools in south-east Victoria has unveiled a new logo.
Director of Catholic Education for the Diocese of Sale, Ms Maria Kirkwood, said that the new brand reflects the optimism and energy of Catholic schools in the region.
“Our Catholic schools are welcoming, hope-filled communities, led by expert teachers. We strive to support them to deliver the highest quality educational opportunities and outcomes for every student.
“The layers in the Diocese of Sale Catholic Education Ltd (DOSCEL) logo represent our solidarity as a community of faith, and the uplifting shape symbolises our focus on personal growth and continuous improvement,” she said.
DOSCEL worked with Drouin-based studio Design with Zach to create the new brand.
The 44 schools directed and served by DOSCEL will retain their individual logos and mottos.
“While there have been some significant changes behind the scenes of Catholic education in the last few years, the focus of our school communities, to offer every student the opportunity to grow in the knowledge and love of God while achieving their personal best, remains constant,” Ms Kirkwood said.
Diocese of Sale Catholic Education Ltd (DOSCEL) was established in 2018 to provide strong governance and professional oversight for Catholic schools within the Diocese of Sale.
Sale was the first Catholic diocese in Victoria to move to a centralised school governance model, which relieves Parish Priests of responsibility for complex school administrative matters, and allows them more time to focus on the religious dimension of their roles.
All Catholic schools in the Diocese of Sale are owned and operated by DOSCEL except for Catholic College Sale, which is co-governed by the diocese and Marist Schools Australia, and Lavalla Catholic College, Traralgon, which is also governed by Marist Schools Australia.
There are over 19,000 students attending DOSCEL schools, and DOSCEL is one of the largest employers in the region, with over 2,500 staff.
